Bethel’s Child Learning and Development major prepares you for licensure to teach in kindergarten through eighth grade classrooms.
You will learn about the elementary school curriculum, child development, classroom management and teaching techniques, and you’ll receive individual attention on a variety of skills and subjects. During your senior year, you’ll take part in Bethel’s Student Teaching Program for one semester where you will assist current classroom teachers in teaching a class. You will perform many tasks such as planning and organizing lesson plans, and you will actually teach your class.
