The 33-to-36-hour M.A.Ed. Degree program offers three emphases:
The Teaching and Learning emphasis will give you mastery of skills that will allow you to be more effective as a classroom teacher.
The Administration and Supervision emphasis offers you the administrative endorsement and option that will prepare you for leadership roles in tomorrow’s schools.
The Special Education emphasis will give you a basic additional endorsement in the field of special education. Note: This emphasis may require more than 36 hours depending on previous courses you have taken.
While the majority of students in the program are practicing teachers, you don’t have to be if you find that this program is adaptable to your needs and interests.
All emphases in the M.A.Ed. require that you take three core courses and eight to nine courses in the area of emphasis. The typical practicing teacher completes the program in four semesters and one summer while full-time students can complete the degree in as little as one year.
