BLC Mission Statement Page
The Burroughs Learning Center houses the library at Bethel College. The library supports the mission statement of Bethel College by providing students in degree programs with access to appropriate learning resources, materials, services and instruction; by developing in members of the learning community capable, intelligent and responsible use of information technology; and, by sustaining the Christian environment of the College.
The function of the library is to provide an integrated system of General Information Services, Electronic Learning Services and Instructional Services. With the advent of Bethel College's ThinkPad Program, the library plays a crucial role in the advancement of providing access and instruction in electronic learning in order to prepare Bethel students for being productive members of a technological society.
The library also maintains a Heritage Room that contains a collection of rare and historical books and other items, many relating to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
The Burroughs Learning Center strives to inspire Bethel students and all members of the learning community to become independent researchers and life-long library users.
