Welcome to Bethel College's Speech and Theatre Department! We follow our mission as we provide you with an intimate, close learning experience where you'll have the advantage of getting a lot of one-on-one instruction. Also, our program is still small enough where anyone interested in theatre has the chance to actually be involved. In some instances, students even get the chance to direct!

We are housed in the Dickey Fine Arts Building located on the west side of Bethel's campus adjacent to Campbell Hall Administration Building, where a proscenium stage and a space that seats 700 comprise our theatre, Bouldin Auditorium.
We're excited about our partnership with the
Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center in nearby Huntingdon, Tennessee. The center is named after actress/entertainer and Carroll County native Dixie Carter, probably most famous for her role as Julia Sugarbaker on the hit television show, Designing Women. Carter and husband, Hal Holbrook frequent the center! Since the beginning of our partnership, we have presented two plays there: "Quilters" and "Sylvia."
